Jarrell ISD Auditorium
Builder: Mazanec Construction Co. Inc.
Design Firm: Huckabee Architects
Owner: Jarrell ISD
The fast-paced development throughout in the Austin area has led to a rapid growth pattern in the communities surrounding Austin proper, such as Round Rock, Georgetown, and most recently Jarrell. The current Jarrell High School was built in 2007 and at the time only served a senior class of less than 100 students. Fast-forward to 2017 where a bond was passed that allowed Jarrell ISD to build classroom additions, renovate existing buildings, and most importantly a 27,000sf auditorium for various performing arts programs within the district. This facility boasts a 750 seat main auditorium, a black box theatrical room, dressing rooms, scene shop, large 3-story atrium space to congregate prior to performances. Once completed, the new auditorium became the largest structure in Jarrell. The expansion of the Austin MSA not only brought more people to the Jarrell area, but also a fine arts community that has become such a staple in the region.
