The  Waco Chapter AGC, was founded in 1946.  In 1978, the name was changed to the Central Texas Chapter, to better denote service  to  Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Hamilton, Hill, Limestone & McLennan counties. We are located in Waco, Texas.

When you become a member of the CentexAGC, you also gain membership to the AGC Texas Building Branch, who works on our behalf at the state capital, AGC of America, our national chapter that provides a wealth of member benefits (be sure to create your login at their website!) and the Texas Construction Careers Website, where you can find workers and post about your job needs.

AGC Texas Building Branch

Texas Building Branch LogoAGC-Texas Building Branch is located in Austin and is a service office for all building chapters of AGC in the state.  It belongs to all members and functions as their office in Austin. The Building Branch maintains constant contact with all state agencies affecting the construction industry, including regulatory agencies, awarding authorities, and executive agencies.  The Branch also ensures that the Attorney General's opinions affecting the construction industry have input from AGC before they are rendered. Texas Building Branch publishes a  a complete bonds and liens manual consisting of sections on private work, public work, and federal work. The Building Branch distributes information to chapters and contractors about each piece of legislation that affects their business.  It coordinates efforts in support of or in opposition to bills, and has sponsored bills important to contractors - such as the legislation concerning interest on retainage on public works, rewriting the state’s public and private lien laws, prompt pay, sovereign immunity, cost of goods sold and the statute of limitations which limits contractor and subcontractor liability on completed projects.
