Wm. Taylor & Company completed the Renovation of one of Waco’s most prestigious projects, The American Bank Downtown Addition Renovation. At the corner of 4th & Franklin,  American Bank is centrally located in downtown Waco, an area that has seen quite a revitalization effort the last 10+ years. As one can imagine working on very busy downtown project has additional concerns, the construction sequence and activities had to be adapted daily. This project was completed in a timely manner while not interrupting any banking patrons or daily banking business. The renovation posed quite a unique challenge and required the demolition of the two current businesses and the renovation of a large new modern banking facility.

The location was a difficult hurdle for our project with the limited amount of parking spaces and no laydown area for building materials. All delivered materials were hindered by limited access to the front of the building and to the numerous one-way streets in the area. Deliveries had to be scheduled for the rear of the structure and were brought in as needed and just prior to installation. Much work was completed after hours or on weekends to not conflict with the bank’s operations schedule.

Turning a “Micro Bank” into a full-service banking facility was accomplished by doubling their previous floor size and adding several new features to better serve their customers. This was accomplished by adding new state-of the art banking features including: advanced security equipment, an ATM with a virtual presence option in its own 24 hr. available self-contained room, an enlarged 3 station teller area, a large open environment waiting area with energy efficient lighting for comfort, numerous custom cabinets with level 5 granite countertops, vinyl plank and carpeted flooring with stone accent walls, a coffee bar area with glass pendant lights over a white solid surface quartz countertop, 5 private offices with ultra-sleek frameless glass doors and walls, modern office and seating furniture thru-out, 5 new high efficiency heating and cooling air handler units for comfort, special built privacy millwork cabinetry with a inner steel frame that separates the conference room from the office spaces, 4 cable ready tv monitors for patrons viewing needs.

 With the completion of this project, American Bank has helped the vast economic growth of central Texas. This project has created a state-of-the-art banking facility that has increased the growth of our economy and downtown Waco.
